Madelyn and Chase rose to fame following the premiere of Outer Banks in April 2020 and confirmed their real-life relationship in June of that year, but in November 2021, Us Weekly reported that Cline and Stokes — who celebrated their one-year anniversary in April 2021 — had broken up after months of speculation surrounding their relationship status. A source told People: "They were trying to work things out privately but broke up a couple of months ago.”
Speaking to Us Weekly in February 2021, Chase said, “It was just always work-oriented — really until the day we wrapped. It wasn’t until after that, until we started to kind of get into the lockdown where we were like, ‘Is there something here or am I crazy?’ That’s sort of where it bloomed from there. I think we were just so invested in the work.”
Chase continued, “The biggest thing for me is being even more proud of her work now as her partner and watching her grow as an actress and watching her grow as a person through this.”

Following 2021's rumors, a source told Entertainment Tonight last December that“both felt like they were trying to force themselves into being single” after their break-up.

They’re not full on back together, but they’re taking it slow and seeing where things go.”
Neither Madelyn nor Chase has spoken publicly of their relationship status thus far, so there's no confirmation that the pair are back together in real life, but it looks like their OBX characters, Sarah Cameron and John B. are still going strong after their split-up in Season 2 - at least at the beginning of Season 3.
When W Magazine asked cline about her relationship with Chase Stokes, she said, "We’re both professionals. We always have been since day one. Outer Banks is a big family, and at the end of the day, we show up, we’re professional, and we do our jobs."

Who is Madelyn Cline dating right now?
There are romance rumors circulating that claims that Madelyn Cline is dating Olivia Jade Giannulli‘s ex-boyfriend Jackson Guthy. In late May 2022, a now-viral Tiktok video showed the Outer Banks star attending a wedding with Jackson seemingly as her date. “He’s a singer and Olivia jade’s ex as well,” the caption says. “Wonder if him and Madelyn are a thing or just friends!?”
