(Cues Herbivora - Into The Flame)
“Why in the world would Lord Frieza send me here of all places?” Captain Ginyu wondered aloud. “There’s nothing here, and there’s nothing to here.” The captain of the Ginyu force concluded, cracking his knuckles and neck. “Not even a single noteworthy lifeform in sight.” And it was with this remark that his scouter began beeping, indicating a sudden burst of power emanating from somewhere nearby. He clutched the device and scanned the nearby area, and the figure of a jackal donning a black and red mask descended a few yards away. Ginyu watched as the scouter’s numbers began fluctuating wildly.
“As I was saying, not a single noteworthy lifeform in sight.” he chortled to himself. Infinite then let out a brief chuckle, the single glowing eye of his mask fixated on Ginyu. “Your bravado is amusing.” the jackal remarked in a chilling tone, raising his clawed hand and creating a pulse of energy around it. “But you are nothing compared to the infinite power I wield.” With his statement of intent made, Infinite released the energy from his hand, which began distorting the reality around the two. The barren landscape began to warp, taking the appearance of a labyrinth of floating debris, inverted gravity, and lots and lots of floating red cubes. Ginyu began to lose his balance as he found himself hoisted into the air. After a brief moment of panic, he teleported out of the way of the inverted gravity field, landing several meters away.
“What kind of trickery is this?!” Ginyu snapped, having now reclaimed his balance. Infinite smirked underneath his mask. “Welcome to my domain. Let’s see how long you can survive.”
GO FOR BROKE! FIGHT!
Ginyu dashed forward, his speed surprising for his bulky frame. He led with a powerful punch aimed at Infinite’s midsection, but Infinite casually stepped back, leaving an afterimage as he teleported behind Ginyu. The jackal slashed at Ginyu’s back with razor-sharp claws infused with his Phantom Ruby’s energy, creating a red, jagged distortion in the air. Ginyu barely managed to dodge, flipping through the air and landing in a crouch. “Not bad!” he said, grinning. “But you’re not the only one who can teleport!” With a flash of purple light, Ginyu vanished and reappeared above Infinite, unleashing a rapid barrage of punches and kicks. Infinite blocked most of the strikes with an energy barrier, but Ginyu’s raw strength forced him to skid backward across the rocky terrain. The impact of the strikes sent shockwaves rippling through the ground. “You’re strong,” Infinite admitted, his tone calm. “But strength alone won’t save you.”
Infinite’s Phantom Ruby flared to life, and the wasteland around them began to distort. Massive jagged rocks floated into the air, and gravity itself seemed to shift. Ginyu stumbled, caught off guard as the ground beneath him twisted upward like a wave. Infinite capitalized on the disorientation, summoning red energy constructs resembling monstrous creatures to attack Ginyu from all sides. Ginyu laughed as he evaded and countered, blasting the constructs apart with energy attacks. “Parlor tricks! Is that all you’ve got?!” he taunted, striking a ridiculous pose mid-air. Infinite, unimpressed, swiped his hand through the air. The environment warped further, turning into a swirling, nightmarish void. The creatures multiplied, their attacks coming faster and more erratically. Despite the chaos, Ginyu maintained his confidence. “This is nothing! The Ginyu Force thrives in chaos!” He powered up, a golden aura surrounding him as he unleashed a massive energy wave, clearing the constructs in an explosion of light. “Let’s see how you handle this, mask-boy!” The blast created a temporary lull in the battle, the distorted environment returning to normal. Infinite floated above the battlefield, his mask glowing faintly. “Impressive,” he said. “But I’ve only just begun.”
Infinite raised both arms, and the Phantom Ruby unleashed a surge of crimson energy that enveloped the entire area. The battlefield transformed once more, but this time, it wasn’t random. The environment took on the shape of a twisted mirror image of Ginyu’s memories. Frieza’s ship loomed overhead, and distorted versions of his Ginyu Force teammates appeared, their faces twisted into mockeries of their former selves. Ginyu froze, his confident demeanour cracking. “What? What is this?!”
“Your mind is weak,” Infinite sneered. “I’ve plucked these images from the recesses of your thoughts. Do you see now? You cannot defeat what you don’t understand.” The phantom Ginyu Force members attacked, their movements remarkably synchronised. Ginyu defended himself, but their familiarity with his fighting style made them difficult to counter. Each blow they landed chipped away at his confidence. “They’re not real! THEY’RE NOT REAL!” Ginyu shouted, blasting one apart, only for it to reform moments later. “This has is some kind of trick!” Infinite watched from above, his arms crossed. “And yet, you still falter.” Realising he couldn’t win by conventional means, Ginyu decided to gamble. With a wicked grin, he shouted, “If you’re so powerful, why don’t you fight me directly?! Or are you too scared to face Captain Ginyu in all his glory?” Infinite tilted his head, his eye narrowing. “Scared? Of you? Very well. If you wish for oblivion so badly, I will oblige.” Infinite dismissed the illusions, the battlefield returning to the rocky wasteland. He descended to meet Ginyu head-on, his speed and power now fully unleashed. The two clashed violently, trading blows that sent shockwaves across the terrain.
Ginyu unleashed a spinning kick that caught Infinite in the side, sending him flying into a cliff. Infinite retaliated with a concentrated energy blast that Ginyu narrowly dodged, the explosion carving a massive crater in the ground. As the fight intensified, Ginyu’s smirk returned. “You’re good, I’ll give you that. But now you’ll see my ultimate technique!” Infinite paused, sensing a shift in Ginyu’s energy. “What nonsense are you-”
“CHANGE NOW!” Ginyu bellowed, firing his Body Change Beam directly at Infinite. The energy surged forward, and Infinite’s instincts screamed at him to evade, but the beam hit its mark. For a moment, silence reigned. Ginyu’s body collapsed, now housing Infinite’s mind, while Ginyu’s consciousness took control of Infinite’s body. The newly possessed Infinite laughed triumphantly, flexing his clawed fingers. “Yes! I told you! No one can defeat the great Captain Ginyu!” He looked down at Infinite, now trapped in Ginyu’s weakened body. “How does it feel to lose?” Infinite’s expression, despite being limited by Ginyu’s features, remained calm.
“Do you really think you’ve won?”
“What?” Ginyu-Infinite growled.
Infinite’s Phantom Ruby flared, even in his new body. The ruby’s energy surged uncontrollably, forcing Ginyu to struggle to maintain control. “What… what is happening?!” Ginyu shouted, clutching his head. Infinite’s voice echoed within the chaos. “The Phantom Ruby is bound to my will alone. No matter the body, I am its master.” Summoning one final cube, Infinite launched it at Ginyu with perfect precision. The cube engulfed Ginyu, trapping him in a swirling void of distorted reality. Ginyu’s screams echoed briefly before being silenced as the cube collapsed in on itself, leaving nothing behind.
K.O!
(Music stops)
With Captain Ginyu’s defeat absolute, Infinite returned to his own body, safe from harm. “Pathetic. Your bravado itself proved to be nothing more than an illusion of your own.” he sneered, turning away from the battlefield and leaving behind not even a trace of the battle.
